Malu & Malu is an event curation, interior design, and visual 3D studio in Bujumbura, working across Burundi, Rwanda, and East Africa at the intersection of structural precision and human connection. We compose moments and rooms with the same hand.
Founded on a quiet conviction: that a space can change how people feel.
We began in 2018 in Bujumbura with a single event and a borrowed room. What grew from that evening was not a vendor but a studio — a team that treats every gala, wedding, and living room as a single composition. Today we move between four disciplines, bound by one belief: design is an act of hospitality.
We draw on the craft of the region — the woven agaseke basket, the honor of the Inyambo, the green of the Rwandan hills — and pair it with 3D expertise and thorough field study, so every room is rooted in place before it is ever built.
Material Honesty
Local stone, terracotta, woven agaseke, linen. We let materials be themselves — restraint is our loudest gesture.
